Launched in 1964, the TOEFL test has been widely used around the world and proven to be the most effective and popular program in assessing the English proficiency of non-native English speakers who are looking for study opportunities in many advanced countries. More than 5,000 Universities, Colleges and Institutes around the world are currently using TOEFL as their admission and scholarship criteria. Every year, more than 800,000 people register to take the international TOEFL exam.

The launch of the TOEFL® iBT test is considered a breakthrough for ETS in providing English assessment services. This test incorporating Internet technology not only maintains the quality and reliability of the old test format, which has been trusted and widely used around the world for nearly half a century, but also helps significantly increase the number of locations, test scores, giving test takers the opportunity to register and take the test more quickly and conveniently.

 

Since officially launching in the US in September 2005, ETS has so far organized more than 70,000 successful TOEFL® iBT exams. It is expected that within the next year, the number of people taking the TOEFL exam annually will reach 900,000 people.

* What is the improvement score of the TOEFL® iBT test?
  + TOEFL ®iBT test is conducted via the Internet at ETS's standardized testing center. This technology allows for the expansion of test locations as well as the number of test takers around the world.
  + Assess all 4 skills: listening, reading, writing and speaking.
  + Each test skill will include independent exercises and exercises combined with other skills (synthesis of skills).
  + The Writing section is expanded, requiring candidates to write essays based on what they hear and read.
  + You are allowed to record main ideas, drafts... throughout the testing process.
  + Exam time is 4 hours.
  + Test score scale: from 0-120
