Distinguishing Think Of Và Think About

How to distinguish Think of and Think about? Basically, "think of" usually means "imagine" while "think about" usually means closer to "consider".

Distinguishing Think Of Và Think About

Therefore, the difference between these two verbs will depend on the context.
E.g: If we say "I am thinking of a tropical beach, please don't interrupt me." This means "I am thinking, imagining the tropical coast, I am dreaming about it.

If in another example like "They are thinking about whether to agree to the sale", then "think about" here means thinking, considering.

In such cases, this usage is often used instead of the other in certain contexts like the two examples above.

However, when we talk about people, we usually use both and have the same meaning.
E.g: If my friend had an accident and had to go to the hospital, I could send him/ her flowers and a card with a message in which we can use Think of and Think about: "I'm thinking of you," or "I'm thinking about you", and the meaning of these two sentences are not much different.
