1. Photo:
* Photo is the abbreviation of photograph, refers to the picture with full of details taken by a camera to print on books and newsapers.
   E.g: This month’s National Geographic issue has many underwater photographs.

 

 

2. Picture: Painting, photograph, portrait, drawing drawn by an artist and this means that he/ she depicts things or scenes through the artist's look or soul.
    E.g: - The book paints a vivid picture of life in Vietnam.
            - He had the picture hung above his desk.

 * Another meaning of picture is film.
    E.g: - The movie won the Best Picture Award.
            - There’s a good picture at the movie theater downtown.

3. Image (noun/verb): images, imagination, impression, scenes.
    E.g: - The image of the trees in the lake made a lovely picture.
           - The writer uses the image of corn silk to describe the girl’s hair.

  * Another of image is "like someone".
     E.g: She is the image of her mother as a girl.

In short:
Photo refers to a photo or image taken by a camera.
Picture refers to a picture or painting only and also shows a framed picture.
Image is only an impression or image in the mind or memory of an image from the past.
