Listening
“Listening is art and if you are master in it, surely you are going to be a great speaker. A good listener is always a good speaker. So listen English everyday at least 20 minutes in the morning and 20 minutes in the evening”. That is the advice.

 

If you watch a baby, you will see the baby listen first and still cannot repeat. The baby only receives information and subconsciously still understands. This is Passive Listening. Until the baby starts to speak, he listens and repeats without understanding what it means. The baby just imitates. Gradually, the baby understands and repeats. This is Active Listening. At some point, the baby has a standard pronunciation and speaks well.

That is the first way you should imitate.

 

 

Speaking
“We must talk everyday in English in order to achieve fluency. But many people are afraid to speak because they are shy what other people will think if I will make mistakes. Mistakes are very common, so don’t worry about mistakes. Just try to express yourself. In the beginning everybody makes mistakes. And always try to make new friends who are willing to improve their English as practice with them as much as possible”.

 

This is the thing Vietnamese – English learners are difficult to overcome while everyone wants to listen to and speak English well. You need to be confident and diligent enough to overcome this. However, you can still speak English well by repeating from passive and active listening.

 

 

Reading
“Reading is also art. It’s not necessary if we read a lot we will improve faster. Ì you read 10 pages but you can’t learn something new, it’s better to read 02 pages and read carefully. And do not try to remember, try to understand, once you understand them you don’t need to remember”.

Writing
“In reading part you read 02 pages. You have to take 08 to 12 correct grammatical sentences from those two pages and you have to write down in your notebook. And read them frequently. Try to remember whole sentences rather than individual word meaning because if you knew complete sentences you can speak it very quickly”.

 

Like the reading part, this is also the best ways for you to increase your vocabulary, consolidate grammar and learn to express ideas of native speakers. Nothing is more wonderful!

 

 

Thinking
“Thinking is very important part of spoken English because whatever you can think, you can speak. So make a habit to think in English. Everything takes time. In the beginning it will be difficult but when you will practice and practice it will be part of your memory and when it becomes your habit English will come naturally from your mouth”.

This is the most difficult part for Vietnamese English learners. Teachers explain, you understand. You learn vocabulary and grammar, you remember. But you can’t think of a complete sentence to speak or write. Therefore, you should be persistent in practicing this part.
